2013 NCECA BIENNIAL- APPLY NOW!
Want to build your resume with a well-respected international exhibition? Interested in how your work competes with the best of the best in contemporary ceramics? Want to see your work in the heart of the Houston art scene and at the center of the NCECA Exhibitions program? If the answer is yes, prepare now to submit two of your best works to the 2013 NCECA Biennial Exhibition. The call for submissions is hosted by Juried Arts Services with a deadline August 1, 2012.
NCECA's Exhibitions Director Linda Ganstrom relates, "NCECA's Biennial is a premier international juried ceramics exhibition that represents an exceptional opportunity to build interest and garner attention for your work." The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft will host the 2013 NCECA Biennial from January 26 through May 5, 2013. Held in conjunction with Earth/ Energy, NCECA's 47th annual conference taking place in Houston, Texas, March 20 – 23, 2013. NCECA's call for the 2013 Biennial Exhibition is open to NCECA Members and the larger ceramic community.
The exhibition will be juried from digital images by three prominent professionals in the field. Jurors for the 2013 Biennial include Namita Gupta Wiggers, Curator and Director of the Portland Center for Contemporary Crafts and internationally exhibited artists Cristina Cordova and Richard Notkin. NCECA will produce a color catalog featuring jurors' statements and images of work by all participating artists. Merit and purchase awards total approximately $7,000.

NCECA's recent call for entries for Ecumene: Global Interface in American Ceramics garnered 1024 images from 298 artists. Jurors Clark Baughan, James Marshall, Jane Sauer, and Linda Ganstrom selected 38 pieces by 30 artists for the exhibition which will take place at Santa Fe Community College School of Art and Design's Visual Arts Gallery, August 29– September 20, 2012. Ecumene: Global Interface in American Ceramics will be on view in conjunction with the International Academy of Ceramics 45th General Assembly in Santa Fe, New Mexico September 17 – 21, 2012. A public reception to be held on September 19, 2012 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Santa Fe Community College School of Art and Design's Visual Arts Gallery.
NOTE -- While registration for this special event is open to all, membership in NCECA does NOT qualify you for member pricing for this conference. Membership in IAC occurs through a nominations process. IAC is an independent organization solely responsible for the production of the event in Santa Fe.
