A Message from NCECA Exhibitions Director: Linda Ganstrom

The International Academy of Ceramics, a global organization of ceramic leaders, invited NCECA to participate in their 45th General Assembly by providing an exhibition of American ceramics based on the theme of a New World. We are certainly living in a new world; a world of rapid transit, a world of easy access to information via the internet, a world of cross cultural influences. From all that information and visual stimuli, artists select their style, materials, processes and inspiration from diverse sources and bring it together through their sensibility. Ecumeme is that appreciation and selection of influences, styles and content from across time and space.

We hope you will consider submitting your work and briefly explaining what influenced your thoughts and processes as you participate in the new world of Ecumene: Global Interface in American Ceramics.
